Hello,

My name is Yesol and I went to Haiti through ASAP in the summer of 2009. I interned at the Fonkoze Foundation, which is the biggest microfinancing organization in Haiti. If you want to learn more about what I did, visit my blog: http://yesolinhaiti.blogspot.com.

I am a history major, and I like to think about international and transnational history. The concept of 'nation-state,' 'law,' and 'freedom' have been fascinating for me to study, and I have done research on how legal institutions are used to enforce and construct nation-states (national security laws, citizenship laws, etc.).

I am also interested in sustainable development (more on the economic side) and world hunger issues since I am also a human rights concentrator. I have participated in Oxfam and International Amnesty in high school, and I am still interested the efforts trying to improve the conditions of the poor in the world.

I am still in the process of finding out what I want to be and how I can contribute to the global process of ending absolute poverty.
