  Raise Funds

Objective: Raise funds through a $1/day pledge campaign for those living on less than $1/day.

Goals: 2007-2008 School Year

  1. 1000 pledges - $360,000
  2. $25,000 in fundraising events

Practical solutions and technologies are available to help eradicate extreme poverty worldwide.  There are many non-profit organizations throughout the world making use of these solutions in their effort to reach and assist millions of the world’s poorest families.  Nevertheless, many families are not being served because these organizations lack the financial and human resources to expand their efforts.

This is where ASAP and the American people can make a difference.

As demonstrated numerous times throughout history, the kindness of this nation and its people has shined brightly through times of darkness and suffering.  Whether it was Hurricane Katrina or the 2004 Tsunami, Americans have risen to the occasion and helped those who suffer and that are in need.

To support and expand the outreach of the world’s organizations that are eradicating extreme poverty, ASAP plans to raise a multi-billion dollar fund over the next 18 years through its “$1/day for those living on less than $1/day” pledge campaign.

ASAP and its members will encourage two million Americans to donate $1/day and sustain that commitment until the year 2025.  As a society that is consuming more than 80% of the world’s resources, ASAP will ask the American people to see where they can economize and set aside $1/day to help a family in need.

“The test of our progress is not            whether we add more to the      abundance of those who have      too much...it is whether we      provide enough for those who      have too little.”
