Alliance of Students Against Poverty

  Mobilize Students

Objective: Mobilize the world’s students into an alliance against extreme poverty.

Goals: 2007-2008 School Year

  1. Recruit 1000 ASAP Members
  2. Organize 15 University Chapters
  3. Organize 30 High School Clubs

ASAP mobilizes and organizes students throughout the world into University Chapters and High School Clubs.  ASAP currently has chapters in over half a dozen universities throughout the U.S. and will soon begin chapter expansion into Kenya, Uganda and Bangladesh.

ASAP chapters and clubs are building awareness about extreme poverty and the practical solutions working to eradicate it as well as raising funds to support existing organizations that help the world’s poorest families.  Chapters from the United States will partner with chapters from developing countries, such as Kenya and Bangladesh, to envision, organize, and implement their own youth-led development projects.

Through ASAP’s online network, chapters, clubs and individuals will have the opportunity to collaborate, share best practices and learn from one another.  These experiences and partnerships will create a worldwide network of individuals who are committed to eradicating extreme poverty and will soon become our world’s leaders in government, business, academia and civil society.  In such positions of power and influence, ASAP students will lead the way to eradicating extreme poverty by the year 2025.
